Prior to the renovation, there was a window in the wall where the stove is now placed. Removing that window allowed for a wall of cabinetry and a lot of added storage for the homeowners. The two contrasting quartz counter-tops and a fun glass mosaic back-splash gives those surfaces a punch of color and adds some visual interest along with some textural accents.

2011 DPVA Designer Show House

Before image of the Master Bathroom for DPVA Designers Show House 2011
Before image of Bathroom

Nest Designs participated in the DPVA’s Designer Show House for the third consecutive year. At the end of the room selection process, I was fortunate to get the Master Bathroom. As you can see from the before image, the bathroom already had a nice layout. I decided to leave all the existing tile work, vanity, bathtub and flooring. I even kept the red walls but changed the shade of red to a more vibrant color for this space. As you can see from the images below a color change with some fun accent pieces can really transform a space.

Here is the after photo of the Master Bathroom. Nest Designs changed the wall color to Sherwin-Williams Cherry Tomato SW6864. I found the man and woman wall vases online and knew instantly that they were going to be the focal point of the bathroom. I decided to hang them en mass on the walls. To add a punch of color, I added lime green spider mums. Those selections resulted in a space that was vivid, fun and energetic. Photos by Bealer Photographic Arts.

Oakwood Kitchen Remodel

Over the course several months Nest Designs LLC helped transform this space from an empty shell into this showpiece. From the original design concept to the finished space, this is definitely one of my favorite interior design projects to date. Photo by Bealer Photographic Arts.

It’s hard to believe looking at this image that this kitchen was in a house that had been totally gutted. No plumbing, no lights, no appliances, no cabinetry just the support beam across the middle of the ceiling. Photo by Bealer Photographic Arts.

When work began on this room, the support beam down the middle of the ceiling was our biggest obstacle. To help lessen the impact of the beam, two ceiling fans were installed on either side of it to help center the room. New hardwood flooring was also installed. A splash of green paint on the walls help to brighten up this room. The homeowner’s furniture really compliments the new space. Photo by Bealer Photographic Arts.
