South Park Porch

South Park Porch

The only black and white image you will find on my website. I re-vamped my own back porch last year and am tickled with the final product. I used shakes (shingles) to side the interior walls and kept the exposed beams on the ceiling. The addition of a space heater in the cooler months allows me to ‘winter’ all of my outdoor plants.  Photo by Bealer Photographic Arts.

Here is a color version of the same porch.  We moved the chairs around for this angle. The lime green chairs were purchased at a garage sale in South Park. The raspberry paint is a custom color from Sherwin Williams. The sisal rug is perfect for this space. Photo by Bealer Photographic Arts.

ECO Rehabarama

Nest Designs was hired by a local contractor to design the floor plan for the ECO Rehabarama home they were rehabbing. My design was based on maximizing floor space and creating a distinct look for the interior of the house. Using a barn door to divide two adjacent spaces made perfect sense. No door swing = more floor space. The bright red door also created a dramatic backdrop for the dining area. The paint color is Sherwin Williams SW7590 Red Obsession. Spring Valley Kitchen Remodel

Spring Valley Kitchen Remodel

There were some major changes in this kitchen renovation. The first thing Nest Designs created was a u-shaped kitchen floor-plan that incorporated a breakfast bar/peninsula with two different heights for the counter-tops. The homeowner’s requested that their existing flooring be incorporated into the new design and that is the only part of the old kitchen that remains.

The soapstone counter-tops really compliment the custom cherry cabinetry. Nest Designs selected gorgeous slate tile for the back-splash. All new stainless steel appliances, a contemporary island hood and great lighting fixtures (selected by the homeowner’s) really add to the transformation of this kitchen. And yes, that is a soapstone sink. After photos by Bealer Photographic Arts.

Photography Wall in Office

The above image highlights a wall where I used the client’s historical product photographs. The wall is located just outside of the conference room and showcases the product development over the years. 5o black and white images were placed in white frames and arranged on the wall.

The above image shows the new office systems that Nest Designs selected all the finish materials for. Since the client forecast a need to move various offices within the building, it was important to select a color scheme that would work with existing office divides and future office systems. The below image shows the tiles Nest Designs selected for the restrooms. Running the over-sized tile planks vertically helps to make the bathroom feel taller. Photos by Bealer Photographic Arts.

Simms Patterson Square Condo – Upper Level

Master Bedroom
Master Bedroom

The upper level of the condo features two bedrooms, a bathroom, a laundry room and a linen closet. This picture is of the Master Bedroom. I chose a gorgeous green color for the wall, a queen sized bed with a rough, natural finish and two ottomans as nightstands. Soft natural bedding and pillows with text and texture give the bedroom a very comfortable and cozy feel. Photo by Nest Designs LLC.

For fun I chose a dresser that was made from reclaimed wood. The lamp carries the wooden texture over from the bed. The dress form with the metal helmet and the vintage luggage add style and playfulness to the bedroom. Hanging the mirror on the vertical instead of the horizontal pulls all of the elements together. Here is an image from the bathroom. I’ve used the wall vases in the past in a bathroom and they were perfect for this space too. This time is used a green grass to add a punch of color against the gray wall color. The numbered basket is perfect for holding hand towels. Photo by The Next Wave.
